India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (February 12) concluded his three-day visit to France , where he and his host President Emmanuel Macron co-chaired the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit in Paris.
During his visit, PM Modi also met US Vice President JD Vance and his family, including his Indian-American wife, Usha Vance, and their two children. Taking to X, the PM said he had a “wonderful” interaction and was “delighted” to join them to celebrate the birthday of Vance’s son, Vivek!
The PM also presented gifts to the French president and the first lady, as well as to the Vance family during his France trip.

PM Modi’s gift to the French president
The PM gifted a meticulously crafted Dokra artwork depicting musicians adorned with studded stonework to President Emmanuel Macron.
Dokra is a form of art involving a metal-casting tradition from India’s eastern state of Chhattisgarh.
Made from brass and copper, the piece features fine detailing and is enhanced with lapis lazuli and coral for contrast.
PM Modi’s gift to French First Lady Brigitte Macron
To the French first lady, PM Modi gifted a Rajasthan-made exquisite silver hand-engraved table mirror.
Its intricate silver frame features floral and peacock motifs, symbolizing beauty, nature, and grace. Meticulously engraved and polished to a brilliant shine, the mirror reflects Rajasthan’s rich tradition of metalwork.
Gift to Vivek Vance, the son of US VP JD Vance
The Indian leader presented a wooden railway toy to Vivek Vance. The gift is painted with eco-friendly vegetable dyes and made from natural wood.
The gift represents the country’s rich wooden toy-making tradition.
The gift to Ewan Blaine Vance, the Son of JD Vance
Interestingly, PM Modi gifted a jigsaw puzzle to Blaine, a toy which celebrates Indian folk paintings.
The puzzle carries the Kalighat Pat Painting from West Bengal, Santhal Painting and Madhubani Painting from Bihar.
Each painting reflects India’s diverse cultural traditions.

It was the first official meeting between PM Modi and a senior member of the Trump administration.
The Indian PM is now on his way to the US, where he will be meeting President Donald Trump to discuss issues ranging from trade, security, and immigration to world politics.
