Billionaire Elon Musk has hit back at Brazil’s First Lady Janja Lula da Silva after she said ‘F**k you’ to him while addressing an event at the G20 summit on Saturday. While taking potshots at Janja, Musk said that her husband and Brazil’s current president Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva would not win the next election in the country.

“They will lose the next election,” the Tesla CEO wrote while responding to the video in which the first lady swore at the billionaire. The remarks from Janja came while she was speaking about the need to regulate social media to rein in misinformation.

A ship’s horn sounded in the middle of her address. “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding, “I’m not afraid of you, f**k you, Elon Musk,” Janja joked, which was followed by loud applause.

The tussle between Musk and Brazil continues

The billionaire’s social media network was suspended in Brazil for a month in 2024, failing to name a legal representative in the country and ignoring court orders to block accounts accused of spreading “fake news” and hate messages.

During the Saturday event, Janja emphasised the need for global cooperation in regulating social networks, arguing that individual countries can’t tackle the issue alone. She went on to call for US involvement in the endeavour.

However, Musk, who has emerged as a strong ally to President-elect Donald Trump, will now be leading the US Department of Government Efficiency in the forthcoming government. During her remarks, the Brazilian first lady praised Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes and called him a key ally in the country’s fight against Facebook.

The comment alluded to the recent tensions between Moraes and Musk, with both sides hurling insults at each other. While one South American nation distances itself from the US, another country aims to bolster its ties under the Trump administration.

A contrasting scene unfolded at Mar-a-Lago, where President-elect Trump warmly welcomed Argentina’s President Javier Milei. Trump praised Milei’s efforts, saying, “The job you’ve done is incredible. Make Argentina Great Again. He’s a MAGA person.” Milei reciprocated, calling Trump’s victory “the greatest political comeback in history” and insisting that “the forces of heaven are on our side.”
