Amid the ongoing drama surrounding Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Deputy Director Dan Bongino’s potential resignation, there’s growing chatter that Chief Kash Patel has confided in his inner circle about possibly stepping away from the Trump administration too.

The 45-year-old has reportedly pointed to his frustrations with Attorney General Pam Bondi, especially over the contentious Epstein files issue.

“Source close to DOJ says Kash Patel also wants Pam Bondi gone, and that he’d consider leaving if Bongino leaves. Also, that there are more frustrations with other documents Bondi hasn’t released,” Mary Margaret Olohan of The Daily Wire posted on X.

This follows a Daily Wire report, which leaned on a source close to Bongino, suggesting the FBI Deputy Director might quit if Bondi stays on. The report also hints that Bongino is absolutely fed up with how Bondi has managed the notorious Jeffrey Epstein case.

“The source close to Bongino said that he’s effectively issued an ultimatum, saying he won’t work alongside Bondi,” the Daily Wire stated.

So far, neither the White House nor Patel’s office has commented on these latest developments.

Things got even messier earlier this week when Trump’s Justice Department appeared to backtrack on its earlier statements about Epstein. The FBI and DOJ jointly issued a memo declaring the case of the convicted sex offender—who took his own life in jail in 2019—was officially closed, and there was no such thing as a ‘clients’ list’.

This sparked outrage among conservative influencers like Laura Loomer and Elon Musk, who criticised Bondi and Kash Patel for their findings, especially since Bondi had promised big reveals months ago, including “a lot of names” and “a lot of flight logs.”

Back in February, when asked on Fox News if the Justice Department would release Epstein’s client list, Bondi casually said, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Trump ally and right-wing commentator Laura Loomer claimed there’s a real tug-of-war between the FBI and DOJ over how the Epstein files are being handled.

“Source tells me Dan Bongino is taking the day off today from his job as Deputy Director of the FBI, and there’s now speculation on whether or not he will return to his job at the @FBI over his disgust with Blondi’s (Bondi) lack of transparency and handling of the Epstein files,” Loomer who has been referring to Bondi and ‘Blondi’ out of spite, posted and said it was her exclusive information. “I’m told Kash and Bongino are furious with Blondi and the blowback she has caused them with her lack of transparency,” Loomer posted on X.
