Everyday could be their last day: Families of hostages demand meeting with Netanyahu as Israel-Hamas truce ends

Families of freed hostages as well as those who are still being held by Hamas have demanded to meet Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu as the truce between the two warring sides ended.

According to a statement by the forum for the families, relatives of the hostages want to meet the prime minister “tonight.”

“The end of the ceasefire and the return to fighting obliges an immediate update be given to the families of the hostages,” the forum says.

It added, “The hostages that returned demand to meet this evening with the prime minister and members of the war cabinet, together with all the families of those who remain hostage.”

“Every days could be the last day, we cannot leave them there,” the statement says.

The week-long truce between Israel and Hamas saw the release of 105 civilians: 81 Israelis, 23 Thai nationals and one Filipino.

However, several of those who have been released still have their husbands and fathers in captivity in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel on Saturday announced the withdrawal of its Mossad negotiators from Qatar, which is mediating the ongoing talks aimed at securing a renewed ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, citing a deadlock in the negotiations
