Missile scientist Dr Jaiteerth Raghavendra Joshi has assumed the role of CEO and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace, the India-Russia joint venture known for producing supersonic cruise missiles.
Dr Joshi has over 30 years of experience in India’s missile development programs, including contributions to the Prithvi and Agni missile systems. He previously served as Programme Director for the Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LRSAM) and Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) systems, which are integral to India’s defence capabilities.

Under his leadership, the LRSAM was integrated into the Indian Navy’s fleet, including its Indigenous Aircraft Carrier.
Dr Joshi has also been involved in training professionals in non-destructive testing techniques and has served as Chairman of the Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ISNT), where he focused on enhancing technical capabilities in the defence sector.
He has received several awards, including the DRDO Scientist of the Year Award, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society in London and the Indian National Academy of Engineering.
