'Boring!': Trump takes dig at Harris-Walz interview after US VP dodged questions about him

Former US President Donald Trump just used one word to describe the highly anticipated interview of US Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. While the Harris-Walz interview was airing on CNN, Trump took to TruthSocial to give his reaction to it. “BORING!!!” he wrote with nothing else to say on the matter.

Ahead of the interview, the former unleashed a barrage of attacks against the Democratic Presidential and vice presidential nominees. While addressing a rally in Potterville, Michigan, Trump mocked Harris for not doing the interview alone.

It is pertinent to note that this is the first time Harris will be participating in an interview after US President Joe Biden announced that he won’t be running for re-election. In the past, Harris has been scrutinised over her reluctance to undergo media scrutiny. While Trump took jabs at Harris for sitting down with Walz for the interview, he did the same thing back in 2016, when he took part in a joint interview with his former running mate and ex-VP Mike Pence.

Trump’s response to Harris’ interview

In a separate post, Trump reacted to Harris’ proclamation that her “core values haven’t changed”. “I just saw Comrade Kamala Harris’ answer to a very weakly-phrased question, a question that was put in more as a matter of defense than curiosity, but her answer rambled incoherently, and declared her “values haven’t changed.” On that I agree, her values haven’t changed,” he wrote on TruthSocial.

“The Border is going to remain open, not closed, there will be Free Healthcare for Illegal Aliens, Sanctuary Cities, No Cash Bail, Gun Confiscation, Zero Fracking, a Ban on Gasoline-Powered Cars, Private Healthcare will be abolished, a 70-80% tax rate will be put in place, and she will Defund the Police. America will become a WASTELAND!” he added.

Before the Harris-Walz interview aired, the former President questioned every aspect of it. “She didn’t want go in alone…So she went in with this vice president guy that no one ever heard off and she did the interview with a very friendly reporter,” Trump exclaimed.

However, he did admit that CNN interviewer Dana Bush has been “fair to him” in the past. Ahead of the Harris interview, the former reality TV star questioned if she’ll be able to get through the whole thing.

“People want to see if she could get through the interview. Nobody knowns what’s going on. I have done so many interviews in last couple of months. Everytime I go out I have an interview and the reporters ask me every question in the book and we answer them. We don’t see any scandals brewing,” he said. “If you can’t do an interview. We got the wrong person to get more relief to working class citizen and seniors on fixed incomes,” the former president added.

Harris reacts to Trump’s jabs

During the CNN interview, when Harris was about her reaction to her Republican presidential rival’s recent attacks against her, the vice president insisted that Trump’s attack on her racial identity is part of the “same old tired playbook”. “Next question, please,” Harris asked the journalist without elaborating further on Trump’s comments.

Meanwhile, Harris also hinted at appointing a Republican to her cabinet. “I think it’s really important. I have spent my career inviting a diversity of opinion. I think it’s important to have people at the table when some of the most important decisions are being made that have different views, different experiences. And I think it would be to the benefit of the American public to have a member of my Cabinet who was a Republican,” she said.
