As the Israel-Hamas war continues to rage on, US President Joe Biden reportedly scolded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a telephonic conversation held on Thursday. According to Channel 12 News, Biden told the Israeli premier to “stop bullsh***ng” him when the two leaders discussed the truce-hostage deal.

However, the Israeli news outlet did not cite any sources. As per the reports, the outburst from Biden came after Netanyahu told him Israel was moving forward with negotiations on a hostages-for-ceasefire deal with Hamas and would soon send a delegation to resume talks.

The hopes for a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war started to look bleak after the assassination of Hamas’ political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. While Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack, many believe that the Jewish nation orchestrated the whole thing.

‘Don’t take the president for granted’: Biden to Netanyahu

The talks on a ceasefire deal have been ongoing for several months without any conclusive results. In the past, the POTUS has opined that the Israeli Prime Minister has been intentionally stalling the talks for “internal political reasons”.

“Don’t take the president for granted," the American president reportedly said at the end of the conversation on Thursday. According to Channel 12, Biden made the aforementioned comment while the two leaders were discussing Israeli-American cooperation in a potential all-out war with Iran and its proxies, amid sky-high tensions as Iran and its proxy terror groups vow revenge for the recent killing of several terror chiefs.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s office responded to the report by stating that the prime minister does not comment on the contents of his “private discussions” with the US President. “The Prime Minister of Israel does not intervene in American politics and will work with whoever is elected president, and expects the Americans to also not intervene in Israeli politics,” the statement stated.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that during the phone call, Biden also mentioned that the death of Haniyeh in Iran was “poorly timed” coming “right at what the Americans hoped would be the endgame” of talks for a ceasefire and hostage release deal. Citing an unnamed US official, the newspaper reported that Biden argued the operation could spark a regional war.
