Following the official visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan showered the former with admiration, referring to him as a “exceptional leader” and emphasizing that nations need such leaders in order to progress and thrive.
In a video greeting, King Wangchuk emphasized that India has set the path for a bright and successful future and that Bhutan celebrates and honors India’s achievements.
“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has not only achieved remarkable success in the past decade but also paved the way for a promising and prosperous future. We applaud and rejoice in India’s accomplishments. Countries require exceptional leaders to advance and flourish, yet such leaders are rare. To find an exceptional leader must possess compassion, a deep dedication to the country, and a willingness to devote themselves entirely to the service of the country,” he said.

On Saturday, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay thanked Prime Minister Modi for visiting Bhutan despite his busy schedule.
In a post on X, Tobgay stated, “A big thank you to my brother, PM @narendramodi Ji, for visiting us. Neither his busy schedule nor inclement weather could prevent him from fulfilling his promise to visit us. This must be the #ModiKaGuarantee phenomenon!”

During the visit, PM Modi was conferred with the ‘Order of the Druk Gyalpo’, Bhutan’s highest civilian honour, which he dedicated it to the 140 crore people of India. In accordance with the established system of ranking and precedence, the Order of the Druk Gyalpo was founded as the highest honor for lifetime achievement. It is the highest rank among all orders, decorations, and medals in Bhutan.
PM Modi left early on Saturday for New Delhi. To bid PM Modi farewell at the airport, the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, made a special visit.

Along with his counterpart from Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, PM Modi officially opened the Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck Mother and Child Hospital on Saturday.Tobgay conveyed his appreciation to the Indian government for providing complete funds for the modern hospital’s construction.
At the Tashichho Dzong Palace in Thimphu, PM Modi paid a visit to Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. The two parties reaffirmed their commitment to the distinctive and distinct relations that Bhutan and India enjoy throughout the meeting.
