Amid fears that continued fighting could lead to a full-scale war in the Middle East, Israel and Hezbollah have continued to exchange fire on Tuesday.
While Hezbollah has fired more than 100 rockets into Israel since early morning, Israel has conducted two rounds of airstrikes in Lebanon.
The latest exchange of fire comes a day after Israel mounted the biggest attack on Hezbollah since the 2006 war. Israel said it conducted around 1,600 strikes against the Iran-backed and Lebanon-based terrorist group and the Lebanese government said at least 492 people were killed and 1,645 were injured in the strikes, but did not distinguish between civilians and terrorists.
Hezbollah’s launch sites & military infrastructure targeted, says Israel
In two waves of strikes on Tuesday, the warplanes struck Hezbollah’s sites storing weapons, headquarters, and associated military infrastructure, said Israel Defense Forces in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Sharing aerial footage of a strike, the IDF said that sub-explosions were clearly visible during the strikes, which indicated that many buildings hid weapons which exploded upon the strike.
The IDF continues its effort to damage and degrade the military capabilities and infrastructure of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, said the IDF in Hebrew.

More ShortsMore than 100 rockets fired into Israel: Report
In multiple waves, Hezbollah had launched more than 100 rockets into Israel on Tuesday, according to The Times of Israel.
The newspaper reported that of the 100 rockets, around 50 were fired at the Kiryat Shmona area.
Even as people evacuate from Hezbollah’s stronghold in Lebanon, the terrorist group has continued to launch rockets at Israel.
Hezbollah has clashed with Israel on a near-daily basis since the October 7 attack and the fighting has displaced tens of thousands in northern Israel along the border with Lebanon.
In recent days, as Israel has ramped up targeted strikes at terrorist leaders, communication network of Hezbollah, and weapon storage sites, there have been fears that Israel may mount a ground invasion and launch a full-scale war that may end up enveloping the broader Middle East.
