As many as nine Indian nationals were killed in a road accident near Jizan in western Saudi Arabia, the Indian Consulate in Jeddah said on Wednesday.
In a statement posted on X, the consulate also confirmed that it is in touch with both local authorities and the victims’ relatives.

“We deeply mourn the tragic loss of 9 Indian nationals in a road accident, near Jizan, in the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our heartfelt condolences to the families affected. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed his sorrow over the tragic incident and said that he had spoken with the Consul General in Jeddah, who is in close contact with the victims’ families.
