The AI Action Summit is being held on 10-11 February in Paris and is being attended by many top global leaders, tech executives, policymakers, and experts to discuss the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors.

Leaders, top government officials, CEOs, and scientists from about 100 countries are attending the two-day international summit that began on Monday.

The summit aims to shape a global AI governance framework amid rapid technological advancements.

Here is a list of leaders who attended the AI Action Summit in Paris:

Co-hosted by Macron, Modi

The event was co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

President Macron announced a €109 billion investment in France’s AI sector, emphasising the country’s commitment to becoming a leader in AI innovation. He also highlighted France’s clean electric power as an advantage in managing AI’s high energy demands. Macron said, “Here, there is no need to drill. It’s plug, baby, plug.”

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Paris on Monday night, where French President Macron greeted him with a hug at a welcome dinner at the Elysee Palace.

Vice President JD Vance

Vice President JD Vance also made his presence at the event, representing the United States.

Vance advocated for a hands-off approach to AI innovation, contrasting with European calls for stricter oversight. The event also addressed geopolitical issues, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict, in discussions among world leaders.

Google CEO Sundai Pichai

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that AI is the “biggest technological shift of our lifetimes,” emphasising its potential to accelerate human ingenuity and transform various sectors.

Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing

Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing represented China at the summit.
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen participated in discussions on AI regulation.

Justin Trudeau

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the AI Action Summit in Paris. He engaged with global leaders and tech executives to discuss the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors.
