As US President Donald Trump pushes for rapprochement with Russia and its President Vladimir Putin, Western businesses are eyeing a comeback to Russia. Several reports suggest that Western firms are looking to resume operations in Russia if the sanctions on Moscow are reduced. Currently, the West has slapped over 28,000 sanctions on Russia. After the war in Ukraine began in 2022, Western businesses were quick to shut their operations across Russia. This allowed Indian, Chinese and Turkish businesses to enter the Russian market, allowing them to make profits.
