A major Russian assault struck Kyiv overnight, with drones and missiles targeting the capital and several regions. Ukrainian officials reported that around 430 drones and 18 missiles were used, causing fires, damage and multiple injuries. At least four people were reportedly killed, and more than 40 residents were rescued from damaged buildings. A separate Russian drone strike hit Odesa, damaging an energy facility, while Ukraine launched its own drone attack on Novorossiysk in Russia. Both sides have intensified long-range strikes in recent weeks, as fighting continues in eastern Ukraine. Kyiv’s allies are urging negotiations, but key territorial disagreements remain unresolved.
