Samsung confirms Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event date and time

We finally have a date for Samsung’s biggest launch of the year. The company has confirmed that Galaxy Unpacked 2026 will take place on February 25 at 11:30 AM IST.

That means the rumours of a late February reveal were spot-on. The event will arrive just a week before Mobile World Congress 2026 kicks off in Barcelona, an interesting choice that ensures Samsung steals the spotlight early.

This year, expectations are sky-high. After Apple’s iPhone 17 series raised the bar with new features and camera magic, Samsung needs to prove its Galaxy S26 lineup can still define what a premium Android flagship should be.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: What to expect

Following the previous years, Samsung’s annual event is expected to focus on its next-gen flagship smartphone and its software updates. Here is what we expect.

Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup

Samsung’s next flagship family is expected to mirror the structure of previous years — a standard S26, a larger S26 Plus, and the top-end S26 Ultra.

Galaxy S26: Despite earlier rumours of Samsung ditching the base model, the regular S26 appears to be safe. It might feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display (up from 6.2 inches) and could bring back the raised camera bump. The phone is rumoured to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip in the US and China, while other regions may get Samsung’s Exynos 2600. It’s also tipped to pack 12GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 4,300-mAh battery.

Galaxy S26 Plus and Edge: Samsung reportedly debated replacing the Plus with a slimmer Edge model, but slower sales last year might have changed that plan. Expect the S26 Plus to retain its 6.7-inch display, measure 7.35mm thick, and carry the same Snapdragon/Exynos regional split.

If an S26 Edge does appear later, leaks hint at a razor-thin 5.5mm profile, making it even thinner than the iPhone Air.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: The crown jewel of the lineup should feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the US and China and the Exynos 2600 elsewhere. Expect 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, a 5,000-mAh battery, and faster 60W wired charging.

Interestingly, reports suggest Samsung could switch back to aluminium frames, abandoning the titanium build of the S25 Ultra, mirroring Apple’s recent material U-turn.

New Galaxy Buds 4

Alongside the phones, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. Leaked images show a sleek redesign with burnished metal strips on the stems, a subtle but stylish tweak that makes them stand out from Apple’s AirPods look. The Buds 4 will stick with a plastic build, while the Pro models sport silicone eartips for a snug fit.

AI and software updates

Samsung is clearly betting big on AI integration this year. The company has teased a new privacy shield that uses generative AI to blur parts of the display when viewed at an angle, shielding sensitive notifications or apps from prying eyes.

Moreover, Samsung’s recent partnership with Nota AI promises faster, on-device text-to-image generation, powered by EdgeFusion, a streamlined version of Stable Diffusion. This move could drastically reduce reliance on the cloud and make Samsung’s AI tools quicker and more private.

All these upgrades hint at one thing, the Galaxy S26 series isn’t just about new hardware; it’s about making AI the heart of Samsung’s mobile experience.

With Unpacked 2026 set for February 25, Samsung has just the right stage to kickstart the premium smartphone season. Whether it’s the refined design, smarter AI, or surprise accessories, the event promises to keep the Android crown firmly in Samsung’s hands, or at least make the battle more interesting.
