Perplexity AI has been hit with a proposed class-action lawsuit in the United States, accusing the company of covertly sharing users’ personal data with tech giants Meta and Google without proper consent.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the complaint was filed on Tuesday in a federal court in San Francisco. It alleges that the AI search platform deployed hidden tracking mechanisms that allowed third parties to access sensitive user interactions, potentially breaching California privacy laws.
