Amid the ongoing internet data fight amongst mobile carriers, Vodafone has launched a new SuperWeek plan.

This plan is offering unlimited calls and internet data of 500 MB at a price of Rs 69. The calls made by the user need not be from the Vodafone to Vodafone, rather it can be made to people from other carriers as well. The offer is for STD as well as local calls.

This is not a one-time purchase plan. The user can make unlimited, repeat purchases of the plan.

The SuperWeek Plan’s validity remains for seven days.

The Associate Director, Consumer Business, Vodafone, India, Avneesh Khosla said, “We, at Vodafone, believe in providing the best network, service experience and value to customers. With SuperWeek, the key objective is to offer a pocket friendly and affordable unlimited plan that will appeal to all prepaid consumers. This plan will further enable our customers to remain confidently connected and enjoy a worry free Vodafone SuperNet 4G experience on our best network ever.”

This offer is available across Vodafone and retail outlets. It is also available on the MyVodafone app.

According to the telecom giant it has 523.5 million mobile customers and 18.5 million fixed broadband customers.

In other news, the telecom industry is likely to see a merger between Vodafone and Idea Cellular. The merger is likely to be completed by March next year. Idea Cellular is expected to hold a shareholders and creditors meeting on 12 October to seek approval for the merger.

Earlier this year, both the telecoms giant had sought to merge their operations to create the country's largest telecom operator. The expected worth is more than $23 billion, with a 35 percent market share.

It has been speculated that Vodafone will have a 45.1 percent of stake in the merger, while the Aditya Birla group will have a 26 percent.
