Vivo Z3i Standard Edition with 6.3-inch display, dual rear camera launched at CNY 1,998

Vivo Z3i was launched in China last October and within a three months gap, the Chinese handset maker has brought a Standard Edition of the mid-range device. The smartphone under the moniker Vivo Z3i Standard Edition has been launched in Vivo’s home country for a price of CNY 1,998 (around Rs 20,990). Image: Vivo China website[/caption] Notably, Vivo introduced the Vivo Z3i as a rebranded model of the **Vivo V11** that arrived in India for a price of Rs 22,990. Talking about the Z3i’s latest edition, the Chinese OEM has barely made any cosmetic changes on the new Vivo Z3i Standard Edition. The phone features a dual-tone gradient back panel and curved notch-style display similar to the base version. Both the Vivo Z3i and Vivo Z3i Standard Edition are powered by MediaTek’s mid-range Helio P60 SoC which has an octa-core processor. Besides, putting a slightly low price tag on the new variant, Vivo has cut-cornered a few aspects on the Z3i Standard Edition. As compared to the Vivo Z3i, the new edition now features a 6.3-inch 19:9 Full HD+ IPS panel instead of an AMOLED display. Further, the Vivo Z3i Standard Edition comes with 16 MP+2 MP dual camera setup instead of 16 MP+5 MP camera configuration found on the Vivo Z3i. Rest of the aspects are nearly identical to the base variant. The new Vivo phone offers 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB onboard storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card. Vivo Z3i Standard Edition sports a 24 MP front-facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The native camera app includes a bunch of features like Backlight, AI Beauty mode, Portrait Background Blur etc. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor located at the centre. To one’s disappointment, the new Vivo phone runs near two years old Android Oreo OS with custom FunTouch skin instead of Android 9.0 Pie. The phone comes in three colour options — Aurora Blue, Starry Night Black and Dream Pink. As for connectivity options, Vivo Z3i Standard Edition includes Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, micro-USB port for charging and 4G LTE. The phone supports facial recognition and packs a 3315 mAh battery. If Vivo brings this new smartphone to the Indian market for a near similar price than Vivo Z3i Standard Edition will compete against the likes of Xiaomi’s capable **Poco F1** , Honor’s mid-range Honor Play and **Realme 2 Pro** .
