Chinese smartphone maker Vivo announced the launch its X20 smartphone on 21 September. As per a report by GSMArena, Vivo took to its official Weibo account to announce the launch event.
The company revealed more teasers of the device, showing off what is touted by GSMArena as a special all-black Mars Edition of the phone. Though this image does not reveal more about the device, it does tell us that the X20 will arrive in a second colour.
Based on what we know as per previous reports , the Vivo X20 is supposed to feature a face unlock mechanism which will be the phone’s key highlight. Vivo claims that this new feature will enable users to unlock the device in just 0.1 seconds. The X20 is also said to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset.
While speculation suggested that the X20 would be the same as the Vivo V7 Plus launched in India last week, the use of a different chipset immediately set those aside. The Vivo X20 Plus is expected to feature a 5.99-inch 18:9 Full View display and pack in 6 GB RAM. The device should pack in a 3,500 mAh battery and come with Android 7.1 Nougat.
The camera specifications are also said to resemble the V7 Plus with a 24 MP unit on the front. Though has not been any official confirmation yet, it is unlikely that the Vivo X20 will be brought to India, having just launched a flagship device.
