Telegram seems to be the only messaging app which isn't plagued by privacy-centric controversies. While a messaging app's popularity depends a lot on 'choice of tools' that users prefer, Telegram has a bunch of features that make the app more interesting and sometimes well-suited to converse.
Telegram's newest version 5.2 brings a host of new features priorly for group interaction including restrictions from posting specific content. The latest update comes with unified group settings that enable group admins to make groups public and set other important permissions. Interestingly, Telegram's new 5.2 update will now allow users to recover deleted chats and history for about five seconds both on Android and iOS platforms. Telegram has added a new sorting option in Contacts menu whereby users can sort contacts by name or by last seen time. In addition, the update has added new animations when uploading and downloading media as well.
While Telegram provides its mobile and desktop users with 'messaging functionality' quite similar to Facebook's WhatsApp or Messenger app, its the encryption and privacy features that have helped the service gain popularity among users. Another initiative from Telegram worth noting is its effort to deliver timely updates on all platforms. The cloud-based instant messaging app surpasses WhatsApp on the group chat and animations front. Telegram allows an admin to add more than 1000 users in a group. Further, you get StarWars, Zuckerberg and other fun stickers that WhatsApp added to its platform just recently.
Telegram's latest 5.2 update is available for download both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The update has a file size of about 149.5 MB (on iOS).
