Sony had launched its Xperia XA2 Ultra smartphone along with the Xperia XA2 and the Xperia L2 earlier this month at CES in Las Vegas. While the company has not spoken anything to the tune of its introduction in India, a new report states the Xperia XA2 Ultra has received an approval from TENAA , before it launches in China.

The mid-range phablet is said to launch in Shanghai, China on 4 February. According to a report by GizmoChina, Sony will unveil the Xperia XZ2 Ultra along with the Xperia Touch Android-based smart projector.

The XA 2 ultra, which was first spotted earlier this year during the days building up to CES, is Sony’s successor to last year’s XA 1 Ultra. The Xperia XA2 Ultra is expected to feature a 6-inch full HD IPS LCD display and an octa-core (as part of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC) clocked at 2.2 GHz.

The phone might be offered in variants with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of onboard storage. The GizmoChina report, however, states that the variant launched in China will only have 64 GB of storage and a smaller 3,430 mAh battery compared to 3,580 mAh battery showcased at CES.

The Xperia XA2 Ultra is said to feature a 23 MP rear-facing primary camera and a 16 MP dual camera setup in the front. The phone is expected to run Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box and will be available in a choice of colours including black, silver, gold and blue.
