Samsung has reportedly slashed the prices of Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphones in India.

Samsung has reportedly slashed the prices of the Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone models in India.

According to various reports by and the Amazon landing page of both the devices, the prices have been reduced as follows:

The 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant of the Galaxy A7 which was priced at Rs 23,990, is now available at Rs 18,990.
The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant of the A7 which was priced at Rs 28,990, is now available at Rs 22,990.

Samsung Galaxy A7: Specifications and Features

Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a 6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with chubby bezels on the sides and on the forehead, and on the chin of the display. It also sports a fingerprint sensor on the side button which also acts as the power button.

The smartphone has been launched in two RAM variants— 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB and 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB storage. The storage on both variants can be expanded to 512 GB using a microSD card.

This is the first time Samsung showcased a triple camera setup in a phone. The three cameras are fit vertically behind the device. The triple camera setup has a 24 MP AF low-light camera with f/1.7 aperture, the second is an ultra-wide 8 MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.4 aperture. While the third is a 5 MP depth sensor with a f/2.0 aperture for bokeh mode.

On the front, it sports a 24 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with additional features such as scene optimiser, AR emojis, etc.

The device packs Exynos 7885 SoC chipset which can clock up to 2.2 GHz. It is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0.

The phone supports accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, gyro Sensor, geomagnetic Sensor, hall sensor, proximity sensor, RGB light sensor.

In terms of connectivity it supports dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80, Bluetooth 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), ANT+, USB Type-B, NFC, Location (GPS, Glonass).

The Galaxy A9 (2018) features a primary 24 MP lens with an f/1.7 aperture along with a 10 MP telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture, an 8 MP wide-angle camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 5 MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for the Live Focus feature.

The telephoto camera comes with a 2X optical zoom, and the 8 MP wide-angle sensor shoots images with a super wide 120-degree field of vision. The camera also features Samsung's Intelligent Scene Optimiser.

The front facing camera has a 24 MP sensor with a lens aperture of f/2.0.

The A9 also sports a large 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz, which comes paired with an Adreno 512 GPU. It comes in two storage variants — one with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage, and the other with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. You have the option of expanding that storage by using microSD cards of up to 512 GB.

The Galaxy A9 (2018) runs Android 8.0 Oreo and the phone is powered by a 3,800 mAh battery. The fingerprint scanner sits at the back.

It is available in colours, Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink.
