Samsung could reportedly launch the Galaxy Note 9 in July or early August

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is tipped to come with the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC and up to 6 GB of RAM.

Samsung launched its Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones during Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC). Now that the flagship has been launched worldwide, the company is shifting its focus to its next flagship device, the Galaxy Note 9.

Samsung has typically launched the Note series around the August-September time period, but a report by The Investor suggests that the Note 9 could come as early as July. This is because Samsung will reportedly start manufacturing the OLED panels for the Note 9 from April. The report points out that the South Korean giant typically starts manufacturing the Note OLED panels two months before the release of the device. Therefore this early production could likely hint that we get to see the Note 9 release earlier than expected.

The Note 9 is tipped to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and up to 6 GB of RAM. The display on the Note 9 is expected to be around 6.38 inches which is bigger than the Note 8 and also the largest display used by Samsung in its flagship smartphones. The Note 9 is likely to keep Samsung's trademark Infinity display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9

However, as previously reported the rumours of the Note 9 coming with an under-the-display fingerprint reader are false. The Geekbench scores also showed that the Note 9 will run Android 8.1 out-of-the-box.

This comes almost a month after the device was spotted on an HTML5 Test website and later on the Geekbench benchmarking website. To confirm the reports about the early launch, support pages of the Note 9 have been spotted on official Samsung websites.

As reported by, the support pages have emerged on Samsung's North Africa and South Africa websites bearing the model number SM-N960U. The U most probably stands for the Snapdragon 845 version of the device and F/DS at the end of the model are likely to signify the Exynos version.
