Pictures of HTC One Max phablet with 5.9-inch screen leaked online

HTC might have had a disappointing year with the company posting a record-low quarterly profit in this quarter but that hasn’t stopped the company from working at new products. The company has been increasing its portfolio in the One brand and according to rumour mills, the next device in this list is going to be a 5.9-inch phablet, the HTC One Max.

Recently the Hong Kong website eprice put out a picture which it claims is of the soon-to-be launched HTC One Max.

The report states that the One Max will have a 5.9-inch Full HD screen, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz. It will come with 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM, microSD memory card expansion (HTC One doesn’t have this); a primary camera with UltraPixel sensor, optical image stabilization, and a 2.1 megapixel front camera.

The HTC One Max is expected to be released in September according to German website Mobile Geeks, and the timing of the release is expected to be around when Samsung launches its own new phable, the Galaxy Note III.

The Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) consumer electronics show is all set to open in Berlin on 5 September and this is where both Samsung and HTC could launch their respective phablets.

As far as HTC is concerned, the company’s flagship device the HTC One faced massive shipment and sales delays due to issues with production supply of some key components. The smartphone which was supposed to launch in India in April only hit the stores by end of May, a month after Samsung’s Galaxy S4 was already out in the market.

Let’s hope the HTC One Max won’t face such shipment issues and will help revive the struggling smartphone-maker’s fortunes.
