OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition supports Warp 30 charging using any OnePlus cable

OnePlus announced the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition recently in the global and Indian markets. One of the trademark features of the phone was the Warp 30 fast-charging technology on the device. OnePlus claimed that it could give 50 percent of power in 20 minutes of charge.

In a long blog post, OnePlus describes the charging technology. The word itself, Warp 30, was formed by the combination of 30 watts charging and the word 'Warp' which describes high speeds in the world of sci-fi movies.

The regular OnePlus 6T doesn't support the Warp 30 charging technology as OnePlus has to change the safety mechanisms of the battery assembly in the McLaren Edition. The battery in itself has an 8-layer protection board to provide more efficient cooling during the fast charge process.

Of course, many people believed that it was the charging adapter provided in the box that would give the phone such high charging speeds. They are correct, however, you can use in older OnePlus cables to Warp Charge your OnePlus 6T Mclaren edition. Apart from that, the phone's adapter can fast charge any Dash Charge supporting device as well.
