OnePlus 5/5T start receiving Android Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0 stable update

Previous year's OnePlus flagships which are the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are now getting the stable Android 9.0-based OxygnenOS 9.0 update. As usual, the update will be incremental and will reach a few users today with a wider roll-out over the next couple of days.

The changelog mentions a brand new UI for Android Pie along with the new gesture navigation system which will be present for the OnePlus 5T. Apart from that there other new Android Pie based improvements and features.

The update also adds Gaming Mode 3.0 on the OnePlus 5/5T which enables text notification mode and notification for 3rd party calls. There is also the New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings. Also, Google Lens has been integrated within the camera app itself.

In related news, a new OnePlus device is on the horizon as the company had made the announcement back at Qualcomm's Maui summit in December. Now we are not sure if this the OnePlus 7 or some other new lineup of OnePlus but one thing for sure is that the phone will be 5G compliant.
