After Nokia 3 , the next phone in Nokia’s Android series Nokia 5 will be put on sale on 15 August, after HMD Global had confirmed that it would be available by mid-August.
As per a report on Indian Express, the smartphone which was slated for sale by mid-August , will be available for sale from Tuesday onwards. Meanwhile GizBot has also confirmed from HMD Global, the manufacturing partner of the Finnish company, that Nokia 5 sales would begin on Independence Day.
Offline pre-booking for the mid-range smartphone had begun from 7 July onwards . The pre-bookings were made available only in select cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune amongst others.
While the Nokia 3 was priced at Rs 9,499, Nokia 5 is slated to be priced closer to Nokia 6 at Rs 12,899. It was assumed that the release of Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 may face issues with the entry of the Goods and Service Tax (GST) however, it is well on time for sale.
While Nokia 6 is expected to go on sale from 23 August on Amazon, and Nokia 3 was available on Chroma online, thus, one can expect Nokia 5 to go on sale via these channels soon.
Powered by an updated version of Android Nougat 7.1.1, HMD Global has confirmed that it will soon roll out an Android O update as well. Nokia 5 is a midrange phone that comes with a 13 MP rear camera, and an 8 MP front camera. With a 5.2-inch display, and a 720p resolution, this one has a battery life of 3,000 mAh.
