With the Nokia 3 already launched in the market, pre-bookings of another offline exclusive Nokia smartphone called the Nokia 5 will begin on 7 July, 2017, according to a report in the Indian Express. However, it is still unclear when the phone will be available for the customers.
The Nokia 5 was launched at a price of Rs. 12,899 for the offline market in India. The pre-bookings will be carried out in various mobile retail outlets across cities such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Benguluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and more.
There are several offers on the purchase of the Nokia 5 such as the 4 GB extra data per month with a 1 GB recharge of Rs. 142 for Vodafone customers but prices may vary depending on the telecom circle. Makemytrip.com has said customers will also get Rs. 2,500 off on buying the Nokia 5.
Nokia 5 will be sold strictly offline which means that unlike its competitors such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto G5, Yu Yureka Black, and Oppo A57, the Nokia 5 will not be available on e-commerce markets.
The Nokia 5 comes a 5.2-inch HD display and will be running on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. It will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM under the hood and comes with 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded to 128 GB. It also has a fingerprint scanner on the home button. In the camera department the Nokia 5 features a 3-megapixel camera on the back along with a flashlight and while an 8-megapixel sensor sits at the front.
The Nokia 5 pre-booking will be succeeded by the pre-bookings of the third and last flagship called as the Nokia 6 will be available for registration on Amazon on 14 July, 2017. The Nokia smartphones licensed distributor in India is HMD Global, a Finland based startup.
