OnePlus posted the first teaser video for its upcoming flagship device, the OnePlus 6, confirming the name of the device.
The company took to its official Weibo account to post a teaser image confirming that the device will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. The image further confirms that the company will launch a variant with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
The caption of the image when translated says, “The 'Snapdragon 845’ processor is welcome to join the new flagship. OnePlus 6’s full-speed array". The image shows a Snapdragon chip slowly being lowered down on the motherboard of the device. Qualcomm’s Weibo account also reposted the post confirming the announcement. This official confirmation falls in line with previous leaks hinting at a similar configuration. OnePlus has not announced any additional details, including the launch date. As previously reported, it is stated that the company will launch the device earlier than its usual timeline of the month of June every year.
A recent report also hinted that the company could be moving to a textured back, which is similar to the skins made by companies like dbrand. The image also teased the sides of the device, which look similar to the design of the OnePlus 3 and 3T. It is likely that the company will launch more variants of OnePlus 6 with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage. It is not likely that the company will launch something as ambitious with 10 GB RAM or 512 GB internal storage but we are not really sure about that.
