Looks like those were just hopes, which will not really be true. Reputed tipster Evan Blass tweeted a photo of two phones, which he claims are from the Huawei P20 series and it shows the device with two cameras on the back instead of three.
The photo also revealed a physical home button that was present on the front of the device along with a very iPhone X-like notch on the top. There also looks to be only a single camera on the front which puts the total number of cameras on the phone at three instead of the rumoured five.
Even the rear dual camera system on the device is aligned vertically and positioned just like the iPhone X. The photo shows that the camera system has the Leica branding on it, which was accurately predicted early on as well. Also, it seems a bit odd that Huawei has placed the fingerprint sensor on the front instead of the back, which was seen on the Huawei Mate 10 smartphone.

Though Evan Blass has had a history of accurate leaks and renders, we still do not know which variant of the P20 this photo shows. It could very well be possible that there might also be P20 Plus or P20 Pro model which would possess the tri-camera system.
We shall know more about the phone in the coming weeks as Huawei plans to unveil the device on 27 March.
