Huawei’s Honor in a media invite has announced that it would be releasing another bezel-less smartphone on 5 December in London. [caption id=“attachment_4135005” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]
Huawei Honor. GSMArena.[/caption] The media invite titled ‘Max Your View’, shows an almost bezel-less smartphone which is rounded at the edges. It looks close to a thin line. The device looks somewhere in between a smartphone and a phablet. Its edges look too sleek. On the invite two smartphones are pictured close to each other with a contiguous and a sharp view of the London Eye. According to the GSMArena, the company has also
shared
the hashtag which is ‘#IOOI. The two ‘Os’ seem to be signifying a dual camera setup. The second O seems to be the head of a droid with antennae. It hints towards a possible indication of having some sort of artificial intelligence connection — most likely in the chipset. The artificial intelligence aspect becomes interesting since the Kirin 970, the
latest chipset
was introduced at this year’s IFA in Berlin. In fact, the Kirin 970 is the first SoC by Huawei to pack a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Since it is releasing close to the end of the year, by the looks of the invite it could be their flagship phone. It is expected to be called the Honor Note 9 which would be the successor to Honor Note 8, which was released last year in September. It is not known whether it would be a release of one phone or two since the image shows two device outlines. And both are tipping to bezel-less category on their sides. Recently, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer had released Honor 7X and
Honor 9i
. Both came with an 18:9 full aspect ratio with a dual camera setup.
Honor 7X
which was launched recently in China comes with a bezel-less display. It had Kirin 659 chipset powered with Android Nougat.
