Earlier this month, WhatsApp finally introduced the payments feature on the platform. The feature essentially allows users to send money to other users via chats in the app. As of now, the feature has only been rolled out to 20 million users in India, whereas there are over 400 million WhatsApp users in the country. If you are one of the users who got the feature on their devices in the first run, follow these simple steps in order to begin sending money via WhatsApp:

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) had allowed WhatsApp to roll out the feature in a limited scale only to 20 million Indian users when the total number of users surpasses 400 million in the country. NPCI had also announced that “a cap of 30 per cent of the total volume of transactions processed in UPI” is going to be applicable to all third-party app providers from 1 January 2021. Now it remains to be seen when the payment feature gets rolled out to all users. (Also read: How to set up WhatsApp Payments )
