Grand Theft Auto 5 to get PC release: Nvidia

Despite Rockstar Games keeping mum about the subject, Grand Theft Auto 5 might be coming to PC after all. Nvidia’s Senior Director of Investor Relations Chriss Evenden talked about the PC version of GTA 5 in a recent earnings call, according to Polygon . Grand Theft Auto 5 has been up for pre-order on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 for quite some time now, but Rockstar hasn’t talked about a PC version at all.

Evenden talked about the PC market and how it was affecting gamers. According to Evenden, gamers are “preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghost, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Assassin’s Creed 4.”

In other GTA 5-related news, Rockstar has announced that it will be releasing a video that shows off the game’s multiplayer mode, which the company has dubbed GTA Online. The new gameplay video will be released on Thursday, August 15, and will expand upon the glimpse of multiplayer we saw in the gameplay trailer.

Coming to PC? We’re still not entirely sure!

Earlier in July, Rockstar had finally showcased GTA5’s gameplay with a gameplay trailer . The trailer goes more in-depth into the idea of being able to switch the main characters on the fly. While you play and roam around the city as one of the characters, the others will be living their own lives. You can switch to these other characters and continue their activities at any moment. As the lady in the trailer describes it, you can indulge in some voyeurism.

There also seems to be some improvement in the core gameplay itself—driving and shooting. The ability to change guns too seems to have been changed to use a radial menu instead of the traditional “switch weapons one-by-one” system of the earlier games. Driving also seems to be much more fast and fluid, with less emphasis on realism.

GTA 5 will also have some great variety in its game world, with everything ranging from the city to the country side, urban decay to untouched natural scenery. Needless to say, there will also be some new side-activities. These include playing tennis, taking part in bicycle races, skydiving, or even hunting (both bounty and animals).

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be hitting stores on September 17 and will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
