Apple has released iOS 11.2.5 for compatible devices. Primarily, the update adds support for Apple’s upcoming **HomePod smart speaker** . The smart speaker is likely to be **released** on 9 February in select countries. Right now iOS 11.2.5 is releasing worldwide and will also include updates such as an option to have Siri reading the news to you. This will not only include general news, but also news related to sports, business and music. Also people in the US, for instance, will get to hear news from various publications like The Washington Post, CNN and many more. Since HomePod is releasing in only select countries, the news reading update, according to GSMArena, will be available only in these countries. The lucky few countries are the US, UK and Australia. The feature will be disabled in other countries. Another feature in iOS 11.2.5 is a brand new audio control widget, which will most likely be used for managing wireless audio devices like the HomePod. According to MacRumors, there will be separate widgets for all audio devices such as Apple TV and the iPhone itself. This will allow the user to control the audio of each device separately without interfering with the audio of other devices. Apart from that, the iOS 11.2.5 update comes with the usual assortment of bug fixes and security updates.
