Apple has unveiled its highly anticipated MacBook Air refresh, introducing new 13-inch and 15-inch models powered by the company’s latest M3 chip. This promises a significant performance boost and enhanced capabilities for what’s known as the “world’s most popular Mac.”
The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at Rs 1,14,900, while for students, it’s priced at Rs 1,04,900. The 15-inch MacBook Air with M3 begins at Rs 1,34,900, with an educational price of Rs 1,24,900. Both models come in midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey colour options. Additionally, the 13-inch MacBook Air with M2, available in the same colour choices, now starts at Rs 99,900. For education, this model is priced at Rs 89,900.
Customers can now order the new MacBook Air with M3, with availability starting Friday, March 8.
Apple claims that the M3 MacBook Air delivers up to 60 per cent faster performance compared to its M1 predecessor and a significant 13 times the speed of the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air.
The new MacBook Air now supports up to two external displays when the laptop lid is closed, but with the lid open, users can still only use one external display alongside the built-in screen, similar to the previous generation’s limitations.
“MacBook Air is our most popular and loved Mac, with more customers choosing it over any other laptop. And today it gets even better with the M3 chip and new capabilities,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The M3 chip, built using 3-nanometer technology, promises not only faster performance but also improved battery life, with Apple claiming up to 18 hours of usage on a single charge – a six-hour increase over Intel-based MacBook Air models.
