Twitter releases update for Mac; only removes character limit while missing out on other features

Twitter has quietly released a new update for Mac users. The company has added the new long direct message feature to its client, which marks the first update in almost more than a year.

Twitter private messaging character-limit increased from 140 to 10,000

In its developer blog, the company has announced to remove the 140-character limited on direct messaging. It will now allow users to send private messages that are 10,000 characters long.
