In first socio-economic census since 1931, govt doesn't record caste-based data

Government on Friday refrained from releasing the caste-based data in its first Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) released in eight decades and maintained that it was concerned with economic data which will help in effective implementation of its programmes.
