Rajya Sabha MP seeks early visa from Pakistan to team for the release of 57 Indian boats

Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani has urged Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to expedite visa processing to the eight-member delegation from Gujarat.

RS polls: RJD candidate, independent elected unopposed

The state's ruling party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), had earlier announced it would field Savita Mahto, widow of former deputy chief minister and senior party leader Sudhir Mahto. However, at the last moment JMM decided to support the RJD candidate.

"Gupta filed papers as RJD candidate while Nathwani filed the nomination as an independent candidate," a senior official at the Jharkhand Assembly Secretariat said.
