Constitution Day 2019: Document first amended for welfare of SC/ ST community, most recently for quota for EWS
The government is celebrating Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas on Tuesday in the Central Hall of Parliament to mark the 70th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly.

West Bengal on Tuesday announced 10 percent reservation in government jobs and educational institutions for the economically weaker sections in the general category. The details about the eligibility criteria for it would be announced later, but those who are already covered by other quotas will not be considered for this reservation, said state minister Partha Chatterjee.
