VK Malhotra named head of All India Council of Sports; Tendulkar, Anand to be members

83-year-old Malhotra, who has reportedly quit as President of Archery Association of India after 40 years at the helm of affairs, will be given an equivalent rank of a Minister of State in the Union Council of Ministers.

Govt constitutes All India Council of Sports, members will include sports personalities and coaches

While the advice rendered by the council will be duly considered by the government, it will not be binding and obligatory on the government, the sports ministry said in a release.
