All India Bar Association opposes Katju's views on CJI appointment

The All India Bar Association today brought to President Pranab Mukherjee's attention its "deep anguish" on views of Press Council of India Chairman Markandey Katju that the Chief Justice of India should be selected on merit and not on the basis of seniority, saying the current system as stood the test of time.

All India Bar Association to boycott Swatanter Kumar's NGT court

"More than 10,000 lawyers are our members in Delhi alone. We are asking all of them to boycott his court. He must resign immediately," the AIBA general secretary Joydeep Mukherjee said.
