Reserve price too high, 2G auction will be over on first day: Mittal

Next week, the govt is auctioning spectrum at a minimum bid price of Rs 14,000 crore for 5 MHz of airwaves for all the country's 22 telecom zones. The auction base price is more than seven times that the carriers paid in earlier sales.

One-time spectrum fee to be charged above 4.4 MHz

The empowered group of ministers on 2G spectrum has resolved the contentious one-time spectrum fee issue for the upcoming auction, according to a report on CNBC-TV18.

DoT proposes levying one-time spectrum fee on operators

In its presentation to the high-powered ministerial pane on October 3, DoT said that irrespective of which option the Cabinet decides to impose one-time fee, the incumbent operators must be charged for spectrum above the 6.2 Mhz limit.

SC extends 2G auction deadline till 11 January

The apex court warned that contempt proceedings will be initiated against erring officials if the government fails to do complete the auction process within the fixed deadline.
