Deepa Malik created history on Monday by becoming the first India woman win a Paralympics medal when she bagged a silver in the shotput F-53 event at the Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games, with a personal best throw of 4.61 metres. After her historic feat, India came together to shower praise on the wheelchair-bound athlete, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sporting icons Sachin Tendulkar and Abhinav Bindra.
