The first night of WWE SummerSlam 2025 took place on Saturday, August 2, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It gave fans a lot to cheer about as there was everything, from surprise wins to shocking moments.
CM Punk defeated Gunther to become the new WWE World Heavyweight champion, but it lasted only a few minutes as Seth Rollins came and snatched the title from him in what was the most entertaining fight of the evening.

Seth Rollins becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion
CM Punk locked horns against Gunther, and after a brutal fight, Punk pinned Gunther and it looked like he had won the title. But Seth Rollins showed up with crutches out of nowhere, making everyone think he was injured. However, it was all fake.
Rollins used his Money in the Bank contract to cash in, hit Punk on his head and pinned him to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso beat Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed
Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a thrilling tag team battle. The match was a clash between wrestling legends and the rising stars. Reigns and Uso sealed the win after pinning Reed, showing once again why Roman is still the top guy in WWE.
