Leading Team Europe this time are Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev. Stefanos Tsitsipas announced late withdrawal owing to an injury and has been replaced by promising 19-year-old Arthur Fils. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina steps in for the injured Holger Rune, alongside Hubert Hurkacz and the seasoned Gael Monfils. Team World, on the other hand, will be led by the American duo of Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. The team also boasts the likes of Tommy Paul, Francisco Cerundolo, Ben Shelton, and alternates Christopher Eubanks and Milos Raonic, with Nick Kyrgios withdrawing due to injury. Felix Auger-Aliassime is also in the mix to invite local fans. Legendary Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe will resume their roles as team captains. Even as Roger Federer’s emotional farewell took center stage at the 2022 Laver Cup, Team World clinched the trophy for the first time after four consecutive defeats in prior editions. What is the format for the Laver Cup? It is played in a best of three sets format for every match. In case of split sets, the third set is a 10-point match tiebreaker. Each player has to play at least one singles match in the first two days. However, no player can play singles more than twice over the course of the three days. Of the six players nominated, at least four of them must play doubles. No doubles combination can be played more than once, unless for the Decider on day 3, if the teams are locked at 12-12. Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday, and three points on Sunday. The first team that reaches 13 points wins If the teams are locked at 12-12 after all matches are played, a final overtime doubles match – a decider – is played as a regular set with ad scoring and a tiebreak.
