Pop star Taylor Swift has been a regular at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and her presence at the NFL (National Football League) games has led to a massive rise in the brand value of the sporting tournament. Swift’s presence at NFL games has also been appreciated by NFL players who feel it’s boosting the league’s popularity.
A survey was recently conducted among the NFL players by The Athletic and a majority of the NFL players said that the league is benefiting from the singer-songwriter’s presence. 74 out of 102 players, who were polled, opined that Taylor Swift at NFL games helped the league to boost its popularity, while only five saw it as a negative. 23 players had no opinion on it.
One of the players who favoured Swift’s presence at NFL games feels that it can help increase the footballers’ salaries.
“I think it’s been positive for the league. At the end of the day, it’s a business, and you need to get as many eyes on it as possible. She brings a lot of eyes, so if that increases the salary cap, I don’t think anybody’s gonna be too mad about that one.,” the player said.
How Swift has impacted NFL?
Another player felt she was getting “unnecessary coverage” and that Swift “is not the NFL” but as mentioned earlier, only five out of 102 players were against Swift attending NFL games regularly.
Taylor Swift has hugely impacted the NFL’s brand value and has helped it grow. This has already been established.
Earlier this year it was revealed by Apex Marketing firm that the pop star helped generate an extra $331.5m in brand value for the Kansas City Chiefs and NFL. Also, the NFL has seen a massive surge in its viewership among female fans which has now reached its highest since 2000. A major rise has been in viewers aged between 18-34 which clearly shows the impact of the 34-year-old music sensation.

Given Swift’s mega impact on the NFL, it’s no surprise that media outlets have been littered with news over her missing a few matches lately. There were also speculations that her relationship with Kelce is not the same, but an insider has debunked the reports. According to the source, who spoke to Page Six, Swift missed the Kansas City Chiefs’ away match against the Los Angeles Chargers due to security issues.
“She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance,” the source said.
A few US media houses have also written that with Kelce losing his form, Swift wants to stay away from matches and allow the tight end to rediscover his form.
