Paralympics 2024 Highlights: India will be counting on the track and field para-athletes to keep winning and add to the record medal haul on the penultimate day of action at the 2024 Paris Paralympics on Saturday (7 September).
It is the last day of action in track and field at the Stade de France. After her fourth place finish in the 100m final, Simran has another shot at glory when she competes in the Women’s 200m T12 final. She earned automatic qualification in both the Heats and the semi-finals.
Accompanied by guide Abhay Singh, Simran will be keen on converting her World Championship success into a Paralympics medal.
In Men’s 400m – T47 Round 1, Dilip Gavit is into the final after a third place finish in the Heats.
Navdeep will carry India’s hopes in Men’s Javelin Throw – F41 Final. He had won a bronze medal at the World Championships and had finished fourth at Tokyo Paralympics.
There’s Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya involved in men’s and women’s C1-3 road race medal round. In para swimming, Suyash Narayan Jadhav and Yash Kumar will be in action in the men’s 50m butterfly event. In the para canoe, Yash Kumar and Prachi Yadav will be in action in the men’s and women’s events, respectively.
