Paris Paralympics 2024 Closing Ceremony LIVE: After 11 days of intriguing sporting action, the 2024 Paris Paralympics will come to an end on Sunday (8 September) with what promises to be an entertaining closing ceremony at Stade de France. This was India’s best-ever campaign at the Paralympics, with the country’s athletes winning a total of 29 medals, the nation’s highest-ever in Paralympics history.
At the Paralympics closing ceremony, archer Harvinder Singh, who won gold in men’s individual recurve, and para-athlete Preethi Pal (two bronze medals) will be India’s flag-bearers. India won a total of seven gold medals, nine silver and 13 bronze medals in the French capital.
Like the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, artistic director Thomas Jolly will spearhead the closing ceremony as well. As far as performers are concerned, Tony-award winning actress Ali Stroker will perform the USA national anthem during the handover ceremony.
There will also be a musical performance, involving prominent artists including jazz pianist Matthew Whitaker, violinist and singer-songwriter Gaelynn Lea, rapper, songwriter and athlete Garnett Silver-Hall, along with performing artist Anderson.Paak.
