The 51-year-old shooter from Turkey, Yusuf Dikec, has become an internet sensation after taking part in Paris Olympics 2024. The reason for his going viral, however, is not his silver medal win in the mixed team 10m air pistol event with her partner Sevval Ilayda Tarhan or his age, but his no-frills gear.
While most shooters in air pistol events wear specialized goggles and ear protection, Dikec clinched the silver by using prescription glasses and earplugs.

The pictures of Dikech nonchalantly taking aim at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre are going viral on the social medal.
The gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event was won by Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec, while India’s Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh clinched the bronze after beating the South Korean pair Oh Ye-jin and Lee Won-ho.

The 2024 Paris Games is the fifth Olympics. His journey started at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the silver medal win on Tuesday was his first Olympics medal.
