What records could Bhaker break in the 25m pistol final?

Bhaker has already achieved a number of milestones in the Paris Games, from becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal to helping India win their first ever team shooting medal in the Olympics.

Should she finish on the podium on Saturday, Bhaker will become the first Indian to win three Olympic medals. Not just in shooting, but across all sports.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar and shuttler PV Sindhu are the athletes besides Bhaker who have won two individual medals at the Olympics — both winning a silver and a bronze each.

Bhaker, however, will be in a league of her own if she ends up winning three Olympic medals, which will be even more incredible given she’ll have won them in the same edition of the Olympics.

And if she does end up on top of the podium, she’ll be joining an elite list of Indian athletes with individual gold medals.

That list currently comprises fellow shooter Abhinav Bindra and javelin star Neeraj Chopra, who won gold in Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020 respectively.
