Once again, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka missed out on a crucial target as he scored 3/4 in Station 2. Chauhan too ended up missing one of the targets in Station 2, whereas Jiang missed three targets. This meant the overall scores were level at 16-16 after the second station, and after Station 3, China ended up taking a lad of 24-20.

After Station 4, India were trailing China by a point, but the Anant-Maheshwari duo began the fifth station on a strong note.

Anant and Maheshwari hit all targets precisely in the fifth station and so did the Chinese pair. However, those crucial misses from Anant and Maheshwari in the initial rounds proved costly for India, as they fell short by one point in the end.
